Handwritten letters, a lifeline in times of war in Sudan’s Darfur region

Since the start of the fighting in Sudan in mid-April, some areas have been completely cut off. As a result, people have been sending handwritten messages to loved ones delivered by taxi drivers. But first, Mali has been hit by a series of attacks: a military camp has been attacked a day after more than 60 people were killed in two separate assaults. Plus, following the coup in Niger, sanctions are also impacting neighbouring Nigeria. We hear from some traders in Kano.
